Each of our programmes has a unique application link, which can be found on each course page.
Read through the course descriptions and entry requirements to see if the course is the right fit for you. If you have any questions or are trying decide between programmes, we will be happy to have an informal conversation about your options. Contact us on: admissionskz@cardiff.edu.kz
Once you start your application, you can save your progress and come back to it later if needed.
Please ensure that your application is submitted before the application deadline for your course.

Prepare your documents
As part of your application you will need to submit the following documents:
Academic transcripts
English language certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, or Cardiff University English Test)
Passport or national ID
Additional documents may be required depending on the program you are applying for, or if you are a state scholarship recipient.
You can apply prior to getting your final transcript/certificate. Please submit your most recent transcript and/or official predicted grades. In these cases, you may be offered a conditional place subject to meeting the academic requirements.
Receive your offer
Provided you meet the entry requirements and other conditions of your chosen programme, you may be made an offer of a place. We consider your entire application as part of our assessment. Places on programmes are limited, so meeting the academic requirements does not guarantee that you will be made an offer.
There are two types of offers:
Conditional: if, for example, you do not have your final transcripts or need to submit evidence of your English Language certification, you may be offered a conditional place. This means that you have place on the programme as long as you provide the required documentation by the deadline specified in your offer letter.
Once you have met the conditions and accepted your place, your offer will become unconditional.
Unconditional: an unconditional offer means that you have met all the academic requirements and have been offered a place on your chosen programme. We may ask you to provide certified copies of your qualifications so please ensure you check the details of your offer email carefully.
It is important that you accept your offer by the deadline stated in your offer letter. If you do not, your offer may be withdrawn and the place offered to a different applicant.
Complete enrolment
Depending on your level of study and country of residence, you may be asked to attend an enrolment session on campus during which all the necessary paperwork is submitted and reviewed.
International students will typically be able to do this during Induction Week.
Tuition fees must be paid either in full during enrolment, or in three set instalments over the academic year, with first payment taking place during or before enrolment.

Your application deadline will depend on your programme, your nationality and whether you are applying for a state scholarship place, or as a self-funded student.

If your application for a state scholarship is not successful, you may be offered the option to convert your application to the self-funded route.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Foundation Year and undergraduate degree?
The Foundation Year programme is designed for applicants who require additional academic or English language preparation before starting a Bachelor’s degree.
Applicants who graduate from 11-year secondary schools are eligible to apply for the Foundation Year only.
Direct entry to the undergraduate degree is available to applicants who already meet the academic and English language requirements for undergraduate study, such as graduates of 12-year secondary schools, college graduates, Foundation certificate holders, or applicants with recognised international qualifications.
What if I studied abroad or followed a non-standard curriculum?
Applicants who have studied abroad or completed international qualifications (such as IB, A-Levels, or other recognised national qualifications) are welcome to apply directly to our programmes.
Applicants who have a mix of qualifications, or had an alternative education, are advised to contact our Admissions Team first on: admissionskz@cardiff.edu.kz. We will be happy to review your qualifications and advise on the best route based on your circumstances.
Applications are assessed on an individual basis in line with Cardiff University entry requirements, and equivalency will be considered where appropriate.
Is there a minimum age for enrolment?
Applicants must normally be at least 16 years old at the time of enrolment.
Additional documentation or parental consent may be required for applicants under 18.
When will receive a decision on my application?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for self-funded places. If you have submitted all the required documentation and do not have a response within 10 working days, please contact us on: admissionskz@cardiff.edu.kz
What language will I be taught in?
All programmes are taught fully in English.
Will my final degree be recognised in Kazakhstan and internationally?
Yes. Graduates receive a British degree awarded by Cardiff University. The degree is recognised in Kazakhstan in accordance with national regulations and is internationally recognised worldwide.
